Fairfield County 31-Year-Old Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash

Fairfield County resident Andrew Chapin, ag 31, of Shelton, was killed around 8 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 9 in the town of Seymour in New Haven County, said the Connecticut State Police.

According to troopers, Chapin was driving a Kawasaki Motorcycle, northbound on Route 8, in the area of Exit 21, Town of Seymour when he failed to "maintain a proper lane and veered toward the right shoulder."

Chapin was thrown from the motorcycle and sustained fatal injuries, troopers said.

He was transported by Seymour Ambulance to Waterbury Emergency Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead, they added.

Troopers said that during the crash, the weather was clear, the road was dry, and traffic volume was light and moving at a steady flow.
